About
Hey, I’m Chris.
I’m 24 years old, recently married, work as a web applications developer in Phoenix, Arizona, and am an avid gamer. I’ve been programming since I was about 11 and have been working for a company here in Phoenix as a web applications developer for the past 6 years. I work primarily in PHP for web work, though we are transitioning to Ruby on Rails for our larger applications. I thoroughly enjoy focusing on usable applications - any monkey can put together a web page these days, but there’s a certain art to putting together an application that works well, is intuitive, and works for as many people as possible. I also do all manner of systems scripting in Python, Perl, and Bash, as well as traditional desktop application development in C++, C#, and Delphi.
I make it a point to learn at least one new language every year. This year’s language is Ruby, with its accompanying web framework called Rails.
I’m an avid World of Warcraft player, and have been playing since launch. Beyond just playing it, I’m an active UI modder, and have created several AddOns that have met with good reception. Additionally, I’m the author of the popular Antiarc’s WoW Armory Tools, which parse, process, and present the data from Blizzard’s Armory.
Beyond WoW, I enjoy most all manner of electronic gaming, both computer and console. I tend to enjoy things in the RPG, FPS, fighter, and side-scrolling shooter genres the most, though I’ll try nearly anything once. When I’m not attached to something electronic, I play bass guitar and enjoy ballroom dancing with my beautiful wife.
I’ll add more here eventually.
